Customer Statement:

Due to the new environment regulation we stayed in year 2005 in front of the decision - how to eliminate the NOx emission in our cement plant? We have received on our tender several offers. We have also consult such as project  in Lafarge group.

Our decision was done - to continue with company Geroldinger. Step by step we came to the final solution. Thanks to the " key delivery " we have received to our plant an Urea dosing system with:

the unloading system from the transport trucks storage silo with the Oszillomat two streams pneu. dosing system injecting system to the burning process.

10 years later we see and we can confirm that our decision was right! The mentioned Geroldinger system is ever ready to eliminate emissions. The dosing system from the company Geroldinger was later on modified to the volumetric system - which conforms better to our environmental control philosophy.

 

We have seen the advantages in the following points:

  • Unloading and storage system Geroldinger OSZILLOMAT run in "maintenance less mode" our initial fears are out!

  • The different features (moisture/ coarse - grained etc) of Urea material have no influence to reliability

  • Thanks to the mentioned equipment we can run with the 24 hour environmental averages system which corresponds to our authority

  • Thanks to the double stream (two floors injecting system) we can eliminate also big fluctuation of NOx range - absolutely without any problem

  • The Geroldinger system belongs to the one of our most reliable Equipments

Aluminium sulphate, CaCO3, silicate, kaolin, talc, starch… mainly highly cohesive and thus forming bridges, adhesive and challenging when discharging from large silos and when dosing.

Complete bulk solids logistics from Takeover of the different raw materisals out of silo truck until supply of exact composition to the disperser.

 

GEROLDINGER Solution:

Round silos buffer the different raw materials. The discharge is performed mainly with the OSZILLOMAT beam discharge bottom, but also with vibrating bottoms and screw conveyors. Delivery is mechanical as well as pneumatic depending on distance and task. The OSZILLOMAT discharge and dosing bottom, dosing screw conveyors or a combination in the form of differential weigh feeder are used for often very demanding dosing tasks.

 

Scope of delivery:

Round silo until 250 m³ made of Aluminum or stainless steel, Oszillomat, Bin activators, differential dosing scales, pneumatical and mechanical conveying Systems, dosing screws.

 

Customer Statement:

Since many years we have been using Silos in which filling material like PCC, Caolin, TiO² and other extender types for slurry production can be stocked. Almost all of These Silos are equipped with an Oszillomat. After this way of discharge has been working so well we have decided to also equip our new paper machinery with the Oszillomat. The eldest machines have been running great for more than 20 years. The new ones are in use for 12 years now and all of them working perfect even though almost no maintenance is necessary.

Verbund

Bulk Solids:

FGD gypsum 12% moist, bulk weight 1.1 t/m3. Grain size between 0.02 and 0.3 mm. 7 kN/ m² has been determined as cohesivity factor. Critical diameter / bridge span approx. 2.3 m. The moist gypsum tends to significant Dehydration.


Job Definition / Application:

An existing silo for dry FGD gypsum pellets needed to be adapted for the use of FGD gypsum according to the above mentioned parameters. Next to a safe discharge out of silo customer demanded an efficient loading of 80 t/h in open Containers. 

 

GEROLDINGER Solution:

The geometry of the existing DM 8 m silo has been adapted to the complex task using a two-part hopper. 
The Oszillomat system ensures the dosed removal of up to 80 t FGD gypsum per hour. The containers are loaded very evenly – no point loading. Oszillomat also copes with the very sludgy FGD gypsum saturated with seepage water which is produced if the silo is not emptied for some time. A huge flap under the draw-off tray is fitted with an integrated outlet for seepage water in order to effectively counter the problem of the significant dehydration of the gypsum.

New hopper, Oszillomat with discharge surface of 2.890 x 2.890 mm and 7 beams with cover flap under the silo discharge.

EBS (surrogate fuel)

Bulk Solids:

Coarsely cut plastic foils (from domestic and industral refuse): Weight 0.03 to 0.15 t/m³, particle properties: < 30 mm rectangular, 0.1 to 0.5 mm thickness; bulk solid is very elastic and compacts in the silo - non-flowing blocks form.

Reliable discharge of cut plastic refuse from 4 x 250 m³ bunkers with high capacity.

 

GEROLDINGER Solution:

4 Oszillomat discharge bases specially modified for this application ensure a dosed discharge between 72 and 215 m³/h. The bulk solid is extracted across the entire bunker cross-section.

Sunflower husks, mycelium and SFB (Secondary Fuel Preparation) in this case plastic foils coarsely cut from domestic waste - this bulk solid is very elastic and compacts in the silo - non-flowing blocks are formed.

 

Job Definition / Application:

Transfer of the bulk solid from an open warehouse into bunkers via mobile crane. Reliable discharge, pneumatic conveying and correct dosing of substitute fuels into the calcinator main burner.

 

GEROLDINGER Solution:

Multigon cells open at the top and arranged along the long side of the warehouse are filled by the supplied mobile crane. Discharge of sunflower husks and mycelium from the bunkers by dosing screw conveyors. The hard-to-handle plastic foils are discharged with an Oszillomat specially modified for this application. Pneumatic conveying over a distance of up to 200 m to supply up to 3.5 t/h to A) the calcinator and B) the main furnace.

Rough waste

Bulk Solids:

Not flowing waste parts, packing waste and old Wood with bulk weight of 40 to 400 Kg/m³, moisture of 10 to 45 % and grain size < 400 (90 % <120).

Buffering ov 2 x 50 m³ and safe discharge of waste material followed by a conveying to the pre-bins of the dosing conveyors.

Old bread

Bulk Solids:

Old bread.
Mixture of a variety of unground bakery products with very varied properties,
often in plastic packaging. Bulk solid compacts very intensely under pressure and forms blocks which become very stable due to the plastic foil. Hard bread makes additional demands of the discharge.

 

Job Definition / Application:

Transfer of old bread from crates and sacks on a lorry unloading ramp, buffering of the deliveries and fast loading on larger lorries, reliable extraction according to the FIFO principle and reliable silo closure.

 

GEROLDINGER Solution:

Transfer of the old bread on delivery into a chain trough conveyor via the whole ramp length. Goods conveying with chain trough conveyor into a Multigon silo and discharge via almost the whole silo cross-section directly into the lorries. A specially developed beam form in the Oszillomat discharge device permits reliable discharge and silo closure.

Animal meal / cohesive and abrasive - bridge-forming - high fat content liquefies at higher exterior temperatures and forms encrustations. Truck unloading station with pneumatic conveying into a Multigon silo. The special design offers excellent insulation - minimum fat melting. Disharge and animal feed pre-dosing via OSZILLOMAT beam discharge system . As an alternative to the usual controlled feed belt weigher a more cost-effective differential weigh feeder was used, which is also immune to foreign matter. Fly ash

Bulk Solids:

Fly ash good fluidizable but very cohesive. In fluidable (=filled with gas) condition bad possibility for dosing because bulk solid is easy flowing (Shooting). In de-gased condition very bad flowing possibility because of high cohesivity.

Takeover of 200°C hot ash >> COOLING >> space saving buffering of 800 m³ (1.200 m³ after prepared Extension) >> truck loading.

Because of innovative Technology an economic water cooled cooling screw with a cooling performance of 200 to 120°C with a performance of approx. 9 t/h. Takeover of 70 to 120°C hot ash for buffering in Multigon which has a isolating effect and flexible inner walls to prevent crustification of ash. Urea and Melamine

Bulk Solids:

Granulated urea, melamine (cohesive).
Urea is extremely hygroscopic and forms hard crusts.
It is normally stored in Big Bags and open warehouses because it is considered impossible to discharge from large silos and after longer storage times (silos positively solidify).

 

Job Definition / Application:

Transfer and precise provision of 750 t urea and 210 t melamine daily for the manufacture of adhesives with: high-capacity unloading of lorries and railcars, precise dosing with consistently rising quantities between pre-defined breaks into several reactors.

 

GEROLDINGER Solution:

Buffering of urea in 4 Multigon silo cells and melamine in one Multigon silo cell (volume 450 t each).
The special silo geometry ensures reliable, complete discharge of urea and melamine via extraction of the bulk solids across almost the whole silo cross-section.
The destruction of urea lumps by the Oszillomat simultaneously reduces problems for the subsequent processes. The cells form a self-contained building.

 

Precise dosing in reactors via differential weigh feeders. Conveying mainly pneumatic - partly mechanical. Simple, central operation and control of the whole plant by PCs and numerous peripheral control stations.

Uncoated Urea

Bulk Solids:

More than 20 materials in total, including kaolin, ground fine lime (flow behaviour similar to Tio2), starch, methyl cellulose, CMC, PVA, (colour former, developer, brighteners...) Many of these bulk solids are extremely fine materials (from 0.01 µ) and / or cohesive - problems are bridges, blockages in conveying pipes, caking, supercritical flow.

 

Job Definition / Application:

Transfer of bulk solids from lorry, Big Bag or sacks - buffering for faultless supply to production - precise loading via disperser.

 

GEROLDINGER Solution:

Bulk solid storage in 3 round aluminium silos outside and 9 Multigon silo cells inside (combined in one block with one common workroom both below and above the cells - space-saving and simple to operate). The charging of Big Bags and sacks into the silos became dust-free & ergonomically designed. Discharge via Oszillomat or screw conveyor depending on flow behaviour. an extremely efficient pneumatic pressure & suction conveyor transports the bulk solids into the weighing container. Finally, the dispersers are fed by screw conveyors. Hygienic storage of flour in especially damp and salty ambient air and intensive sun rays (directly on the coast).

Moist grain, flour, bran and semolina.
The bulk materials are free-flowing to cohesive. High exterior temperatures make large demands on hygienic storage. Large temperature changes overnight make good insulation necessary to prevent condensation in the silo.

 

Job Definition / Application:

Hygienic storage and reliable discharge of the bulk materials; smallest possible transport volume (shipping to Arabia), installation on-site with external employees under our supervision.

 

GEROLDINGER Solution:

2 steel Multigon silo blocks (octagonal silo) with 18 and 12 cells of between 120 m³ and 200 m³ useable volume. The silo blocks form self-contained buildings. Due to the special sandwich construction of the Multigon silos and the outer cladding, the bulk materials are well protected against condensation. Discharge design in mass flow.

GEROLDINGER Solution:

For buffering we have used mass flow Multigon silo with a cross section of 5 x 5. Multigon has a good isolation value thanks to his construction. A throughout going Isolation especially at the hopper and roof minimizes the creation of ice floes. The discharging system Oszillomat enables a safe and reliable discharging out of the silo. Bridging and caking are prevented. Containers are filled with a performance of 100 t/h via a discharging cross section of 1,6 x 4,8 m of the Oszillomat without the need of changing.

The take over of the product was managed by installing a customized truck take over station with screw conveyors. The continuing conveying is carried out by an approx. 26 m high bucket elevator with a performance 100 t/h. The elevator transfers urea to the next screw conveyor which is supplying the Multigonsilo. The storing of urea was solved by using an 400 m³ silo. Due to the isolating effect of the silo walls the moisture absortion of urea is minimized and clumping is prevented.

The Oszillomat system is discharging the silo in a reliable and safe way and additionally existing clumps are destroyed by this system.

The supply of the following prduction process is assured by several screw conveyors.
